"Dramatic, Avant Garde and Intelligent" reads Yohji Yamamoto's classic, three-word inspiration brief for his eponymous eyewear line. Built from premium, luxury materials such as a signature palette developed with Mazzucchelli, these unisex shades reflect the designers legendary ethos - dark, with layers of complexity and avant garde spirit.

Zoobug is the award-winning eyewear developed by London-based eye surgeon Dr Julie Diem Le especially designed for children 0-12 years. Since 2006, the inspirational Zoobug team created beautiful hand crafted frames and sunglasses made to EU safety standards. In 2012 they were chosen to produce the official London Olympic sunglasses for kids.
We had the pleasure of meeting Dr Julie at London, early in February 2016 and I must say, Dr Julie left a wonderful impression on my 3 year old daughter as she had the biggest beaming smile after she tried on practically the entire new collection! We shared a belief that all children should wear properly fitting frames designed to protect their sight and let them look gorgeous.
Kirk & Kirk
If there is one collection of eyewear that aligns perfectly with our own for celebrating colour, design and innovation, then it would be Kirk & Kirk's Kaleidoscope eyewear.
Fashioned from a special grade of Italian acrylic, the frames shine in unique splendor, allowing the gifted British designers to propose unique colourways and finishes. The handcrafted eyewear is a testament to the Kirk family's legacy in the optical industry stretching from the streets of 1920's entrepreneurial London.
When head designer, Jason Kirk, visited our store early in March 2016 and showed us the eyewear for the first time, we grinned in delight like a Cheshire cat. Evocative eye candy. What starts off as a metaphor materialises into a literal, but ever so wearable, piece of art. ...
Campbell Marson Wood
We have long been skeptical of how wooden eyewear looked, aesthetically. Much of what we have seen emphasised the technical intricacies but at the cost of capturing the natural beauty of the grain.Kirk & Kirk's Kaleidoscope eyewear.
Then along came Campbell Marson. With a history of 90 years in the world of high quality wooden flooring and cabinetry, the team ventured into the optical industry early in 2016. By pushing the boundaries of modern engineering and delving into the vast, and exclusive, range of veneers created in their London workshops, Campbell Marson have developed a collection that is mind-bogglingly beautiful.
Our newest line of eyewear had us revelling. We never wanted to stock wooden eyewear unless the finish was as good as what is seen in luxury cars as extras. Campbell Marson did not have us waiting too long for such a product. Marvellous!
My name is Janan. In the Turkish tongue, "Janan" means "beloved", in Arabian poetry, "Janan" means "hidden heart" or "soul". To some, "That which we call a roseby any other name would smell as sweet", yet to others, a name is testament to the individual, something unique to be identified with.
To me, my name was a driving inspiration! To passionately love an idea and to set a high standard that will inspire others. But it's something I would do... quietly, hidden out of sight. I'm not brash, I won't splash my face across the internet nor will you find many pictures of the shop.
I cherish deeply the things I find, I become possessive of beautiful trinkets and happily impart stories of those very objects to anyone who'd happily listen. Especially so when it comes to eyewear. You see, there are many little voices scattered all across the globe that share a singular passion for crafting eyewear, almost drowned out by the brash campaigns of so-called luxury eyewear disguised in big and shiny licenses.
But here I am, starting up a little shop next door to a library, a place full of knowledge, where you can get that authentic feel of fingers glancing over paper or that cork-like smell as you quickly flick through the pages of an old novel picked up in a rustic corner that no one ever treads. I want to provide a platform for those majestic voices to share their tales!
I have a voice, I have a story, I have a passion. I believe that every face is a work of art and deserves a quality frame. Perhaps, you might want to hear that story. Suffice to say, the names of things do affect what they really are, and I most certainly would like to know your name and hear your story.
It is for this very reason that every pair of prescription glasses you buy* shall have an anti-glare and hard-coating included as standard! Our rimless and semi-rimless frames have toughened high index lenses too to prevent chipping and damage. It's our way of making your decision to buy the right glasses that little bit easier.
Our philosophy in providing the best possible outcome for your comfort and style does not stop there. We offer choice in even the most mundane high street solutions - not all anti-glares and hardcoats are made equally!
At Spectacle Emporium, we're determined to provide the alternatives that many opticians hush away. We are pleased to announce that we shall be providing the world's thinnest plastic lens: Tokai's 1.76 refractive index lens. Coupled with double aspheric technology, this Tokai lens will cause all others to wilt due to it's superior optical qualities, superior cosmetics and thinner edge thickness.
Driven by our desire to provide the very best eyewear, we have tirelessly worked hard behind the scenes in order to give you more choice than you may be aware of. We are introducing prescription mirror lenses that allow your beautiful sunglasses to deliver the full fashion punch that their creators intended.
And this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. We want to liberate yourselves from what others tell you. There is no "can't be done!". Welcome to the realms of possibility.
It’s art if can’t be explained. It’s fashion if no one asks for an explanation. It’s design if it doesn’t need explanation.
